Sormak mining co, established in 1971 with 202,500,000 Rial of initial finance, with a workforce of over 160 employees, is active in the field of exploring and extracting of mines and deposits in Iran. This company is absolutely managed privately and the director manager of the company has the authority to make all decisions.
The director manger of the company, Mr. Hasan Hosein Gholi, born in 1958, has the experience in finance managing, 15 years, and over 16 years continuous and beneficial activity in mining is also the chair man of the Lead and Zinc Union of Iran.
In the recent years, due to the significant technological progress, extraction and mining of Gilsonite (natural bitumen) have been done from our mines in Gilangharb in Kermanshah province. In addition, Sormak Mining Co. has done so many experiments on recovery of Gilsonite and run a pilot factory of Gilsonite recovery which is totally new in Asia to reduce the ash content of Gilsonite to very small amounts competitive with American Gilsonite.
Sormak Mining Co. has been invented a kind of asphalt and also anti-corrosion material used in waste water pipes, gas pipes and some kind of mastic, enamel and primer with the base of Gilsonite, this rare and precious material.
