The Takieh Lead & Zinc Mine is one of the proprietary mining assets of Sormak Mines Company, located in Shazand County, Markazi Province, adjacent to Takieh Village. The mine is situated approximately 2 km from the Omarat Mine and 50 km from the city of Arak, serving as one of the Company's key sources of feedstock for its mineral processing facilities and contributing significantly to Sormak's integrated mining value chain.

The deposit hosts lead and zinc mineralization with an estimated resource of approximately 1 million tonnes. The ore grade ranges between 5% and 7% combined lead and zinc, while high-grade zinc mineralization occurs locally at major fault intersections. The mineralized zone extends for approximately 1,500 meters, with vein thicknesses varying from 1 to 10 meters.

Mining Method

Mining operations at Takieh are carried out using the open-pit bench mining method. The extraction process includes drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling with modern mining equipment, aiming to maximize ore recovery while ensuring efficient and sustainable mining operations.

Role in the Value Chain

Exploration and mining activities at Takieh Mine are conducted on a continuous basis. Following extraction, the ore is transported to the Ahangaran Mining & Industrial Complex, where it serves as feedstock for Sormak's mineral processing facilities, particularly the Three-Stage Waelz Furnace.

The mine plays a strategic role in ensuring a stable supply of raw materials for the production of lead oxide and zinc oxide, while supporting the continuous development of Sormak's integrated mineral processing value chain.
